Examples of diverse settings include Title I, ESOL, Special Education, observing a counselor, and shadowing a specialist teacher (e.g. music, physical education, technology, art).<\/p>\n<p>During the remaining weeks of the term, the teacher candidate will spend all their time in the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>There will be one week in the third month of the term when the teacher candidate will be in your classroom full-time. During this week, the teacher candidate will <span>p<\/span><span>lan, teach, and assess a whole group lesson(s), as assigned by cohort leaders.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Term 1 General Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Encourage your teacher candidate to attend faculty meetings and participate in Professional Learning Community (&#8220;PLC&#8221;) meetings when possible.<\/li>\n<li>Build relationships with school partners (e.g. say \u201chello\u201d to the school principal when you\u2019re on site).<\/li>\n<li>Submit travel logs each month.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Term 1 To Do&#8217;s<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p class=\"aks\">Schedule a start-of-term meeting with your teacher candidate and clinical teacher to orient them to term 1 requirements. During the meeting, you should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exchange contact information.<\/li>\n<li>Go over the term 1 quick start guide for each role to make sure you all understand what\u2019s expected.<\/li>\n<li>Verify the clinical teacher received the link for Canvas.<\/li>\n<li><span>Show where to find forms in Canvas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Review clinical observation feedback form process and requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Review the\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Educator Readiness Scale<\/span>\u00a0process and requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Remind the clinical teacher about the clinical teacher training, which should be completed within the first four weeks of the term.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"aks\">Complete two formal observations of your teacher candidate. As part of this, you should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Coordinate with your teacher candidate to schedule a formal observation of one lesson during weeks 3-4 and one full-time week.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Review and provide feedback on the teacher candidate&#8217;s lesson plans, which the teacher candidate will submit in Canvas, and email, at least five business days prior to the lesson.<\/li>\n<li>Complete a clinical observation feedback form in Canvas for the lesson you observed.<\/li>\n<li><span>Lesson feedback should be sent to your teacher candidate and clinical teacher so everyone is on the same page.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"aks\">Complete the <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Educator Readiness Scale (ERS)<\/span> form. As part of this, you should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Schedule and lead the consensus meeting with the teacher candidate and cooperating teacher to discuss everyone\u2019s scores on the <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Educator Readiness Scale<\/span> and to come to a consensus score.<\/li>\n<li>Fill out your <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Educator Readiness Scale<\/span> form prior to the consensus meeting.<\/li>\n<li>Submit <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Educator Readiness Scale<\/span> consensus sheet scores in Canvas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"aks\">Meet with the clinical teacher to discuss their experiences from the term.
