Many online materials have a DOI (Digital Object Identifier), which might be hidden on the web page. What is a DOI?
If the online material does not have a DOI, APA style asks you to cite the homepage URL for the source of the article, report, etc. In the case of a scholarly article, you should include the journal's homepage. In the case of a news article, you should include the newspaper's homepage. This may require an additional internet search to locate the source's homepage. See instructions below:
