Apply the following guidelines when e-mailing cover letters, thank-you notes, and replies to requests for information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use a meaningful subject header for your e-mail\u2014one that is appropriate to the topic.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use \u201cemoticons\u201d like \ud83d\ude42 or LOL.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use unusual fonts, wallpapers, or multicolored backgrounds.<\/li>\n<li>End your e-mail with your full name.<\/li>\n<li>If using a signature, make sure it is appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=70r8hMeY4is\">Video<\/a> on using email in job search<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tIEJGQ9Udf4\">Video<\/a> on email etiquette in job search<\/p>\n<p>Sending your resume and cover letter as attachments, make sure to save your materials as pdf\u2019s and name them with your name and type of document, e.g. doej resume.pdf<\/p>\n<p>In the Subject line, put the name of the position for which you are applying.
