The WOU Polk County Math Festival<\/h1>\n

The Polk County Math Festival is a program of hands-on workshops and games for high school students and their teachers. The purpose of the day is to encourage young people, particularly women, gender minorities, and students of color to continue their study of mathematics, and provide a community for their teachers.<\/p>\n

This event will combine the spirit of Sonia Kovalevsky Day, with an emphasis on encouraging women and minorities in mathematics, in an inclusive celebration of mathematical potential in Polk County.<\/p>\n

The Polk County Math Festival is sponsored by the WOU Mathematics Department and is funded by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at WOU, as well as the Mathematical Association of America Dolciani Enrichment Grant Program.<\/p>\n
