Social Media
Want to be listed on WOU’s social media directory?t?
WOU’s social media directory lists officially recognized accounts for WOU departments and organizations. To be included in this list: 1) your account(s) must adhere to the following guidelines, and 2) you need to complete the application to be listed on the official directory.
If you have any questions about these guidelines, contact Lisa Catto, media relations and social media manager, in Marketing & Communication at 503-838-8163 or cattol@wou.edu.
Why do you want to be in the directory?
The flagship WOU accounts only share/retweet content from officially recognized accounts listed in the directory. Also, it will be easier for people to find your accounts if you’re on the directory as the directory is prominently linked on the website.
What types of accounts qualify for inclusion in the directory?
Any social media account that represents a campus department, organization, group, club, or sport. The accounts must be managed by current WOU students, faculty or staff. Personal accounts or fan accounts managed by non-WOU people will not be considered.
Will I ever be removed from the directory?
Accounts listed in the directory will be periodically reviewed to ensure they are following these guidelines. If the account no longer adheres to the guidelines, it will be removed from the directory and the account manager will be informed.

- Only one account per social network, per department will be considered.
- Logos and graphics must adhere to WOU’s Identity Guidelines and copyright laws (visit wou.edu/marcom for more guidelines).
- At least two WOU employees must have the login information or administrator access to the account to maintain consistent access with student/employee turnover. This could be a colleague, social media manager for a related department, or club adviser. The campus social media manager, Lisa Catto, is available to serve as one of the two. Lisa can help you identify a second employee.
- The account adheres to any and all social media guidelines and policies put forth by the Marketing & Communication office.
- Up-to-date account manager names and contact information will be provided to the Marketing & Communication office if the account managers change.
