Once the OIED has all of your application documents and has decided that you meet all of the qualifications, a faculty mentor matching your area of study will be contacted. Once we have secured a faculty mentor, then and only then, will you be accepted into the Visiting Scholars Program at WOU.
Following your acceptance, you will receive a welcome packet including your acceptance letter, DS-2019, information on your responsibilities as a visiting scholar, and information on WOU’s mandatory insurance policy.
*Please note that having a faculty mentor is crucial to your acceptance into the Visiting Scholars Program. Therefore, if a faculty mentor in your field of research is not available at the time of application, you may need to reapply at a later date.
Currently WOU only accepts visiting scholars from partner institutions with which there is a joint program or exchange program. If your institution is interested in connecting with WOU, please contact Neng Yang: yangn@wou.edu for further information.
