2020-2021 Tuition and Fees

Please read the information below in the tables for a detailed explanation of estimated tuition and fees at Western Oregon University.  All fees are estimates and based on a full academic year, which consists of 3 terms or quarters (9 months).  Actual tuition billing may vary based on number of credits taken and any associated course fees.  You can find more information regarding the cost of attendance here.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition & Fees (Undergraduate) $28,956 15 credit hours + fees per term = $9,652 term per year.
Tuition & Fees (Graduate) $25,104 9 credit hours + fees per term = $8,368 term per year.

 

One Year Estimated Living Expenses

Books and Supplies $1,200 The living cost at WOU is estimated at about $15,856 per student per year. The cost of books, transportation and personal expenses may vary substantially by individual, however.

Dependents (Spouse or Children) $2,000/year for spouse + $7,986 for health insurance $2000/year per child + $3,862/year per child for health insurance Contact the OIED if you are interested in bringing a dependent on an F-2 or J-2 visa.

Application Fee $60 (Application) $80 (Express shipping overseas) One time fee, all applicants. ($60 application fee and optional $80 International Express mailing fee)

Portland Airport (PDX) Pick-up Fee (optional) $70 Each trip per person. (Fee is billed to WOU account)
Salem Pick-up Fee (optional) $30 Each trip per person. (Fee is billed to WOU account)
Temporary Housing Fee (optional) Depends on placement New students should be prepared to pay for temporary housing in cash or credit card before moving into the residence halls or finding an apartment.

 

Other Fees

Other Fees Varies Additional fees may include but are not limited to: add/drop fees, classroom fees, parking fees, pharmaceutical/medicine or immunizations, library fines, interest if a bill is not paid on time, etc.

Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
