International Club is a diverse student-run organization that celebrates the sharing and representation of countries and cultures from around the world. As a club within the Associated Students of Western Oregon University (ASWOU), International Club holds weekly meetings and organizes many different events through the year including but not limited to:

  • International Night
  • International Fairs (International Education Day)
  • Holi (Hindu Festival)
  • Christmas Tree Lighting
  • Barbecues
  • International Potluck
  • Sports & Games
  • Local Trips (Skiing, Beach-combing)
  • Weekly Meetings
  • And More!!

If you are a student, international or domestic, who wants to meet others from around the world and celebrate all things international, become a member of International Club! All you have to do is show up to a meeting. If you are interested in becoming an officer of the club, elections are held every Spring term.

Chinese Student and Scholars Association (CSSA)

The Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) is an organization open to all international and domestic students who are interested in Chinese culture. The purpose of the club is to provide members with the opportunity to share with the WOU campus and surrounding community the culture, religion, politics, and history of China and so much more.

Each year, the CSSA hosts the Chinese New Year Festival, a grand event celebrating the new year with food, dancing, music, and performances. CSSA also organizes a yearly spring term/ graduation trip for its members.

Anyone can join, you don’t have to be Chinese. If you want to learn more about the club, “like” our Facebook page at “WOU Chinese Club”.

 Saudi Club (SC)

The Saudi Club is a student organization dedicated to serve the Saudi student body at Western Oregon University and introduce the culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is open to all international and domestic students who want to learn more about Saudi Arabia and surrounding regions. It is a means to share with the WOU Campus and area communities the culture, religion, politics, economy, and history of the various countries represented by the members.

Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
