Department / Division / Job Summary

Western Oregon University invites applications for part-time Non-Tenure-Track Instructor/Assistant Professor positions for the Gerontology Faculty Applicant Pool. Candidates with a PhD are preferred, but master-level applicants will be given consideration. Candidates with teaching experience will be given priority. Possible courses to be taught include Retirement/Long Term Care Housing for the Elderly, Alzheimer’s Disease and other Dementia Management, Cognitive and Physical Changes in Aging, and seminars/courses in the applicant’s specialty area. We are not considering candidates who require Visa sponsorship support. Additionally, the university typically only considers visa support for employees placed in specialized positions that are continuing regular university appointments.

Qualifications

  • Master degree or higher in gerontology or related health care or social services field
  • Experience working with older adults or teaching gerontology classes
