When you move into the residence halls at Western Oregon University, you get a safe and secure place to live within a beautiful campus while you pursue your educational goals.
You will find a group of professional staff who will serve as your resource for all kinds of information from campus maps and directions for new students, to adding money to meal accounts, to support for academic initiatives. If the answer to your question is not within the housing department, you will be directed with a smile to the correct source for information outside of housing. And that is just the office staff!
You will also benefit from programming set up for and selected by you; supportive and helpful residential live-in staff and faculty mentors who choose to work closely with our residential students. Don’t forget our Residential Computer Lab and the Res Comp Staff! This knowledgeable crew is always ready to help you with any technical issues with your computer or getting connected to the Western system – all for the very low price of FREE TO RESIDENTIAL STUDENTS!

THE RESIDENTIAL SERVICE CENTER
The RSC is centrally located within the residential complex and housed residential mail boxes. The RSC staff facilitates mail delivery, package pick-up, key/fob replacements, sells postage stamps and offers general help. The Residential Computer Lab and office space for the Coordinator for Leadership and Programs are located here as well. Reach the RSC at 503-838-6387.
STREAMING MOVIES, FREE LAUNDRY, HIGH SPEED INTERNET + TECH SUPPORT
Residential students can stream movies to the device of their choice anywhere on campus. FREE with Res Life Cinema. Our residents enjoy high speed internet access and TECH SUPPORT plus a residential computer lab located in the RSC. Wash your clothes at any of the laundry facilities located in each hall – with no added expense to residents. NICE!
VALSETZ DINING HALL and CAMPUS DINING
Located in the heart of the residential complex, Valsetz offers residents a wide variety of choices to meet their needs and tastes. Hours are tailored to student schedules, and special attention is given to Gluten Free, Vegan and Vegetarian options. Two coffee shops on campus, Caffè Allegro (Werner University Center) and The Press (Hamersly Library – proudly serving Starbucks®) are always within walking distance of the halls! Need a snack between classes? Check out the “C” store within Allegro in the Werner University Center.
COMMUNITY STUDY ROOMS, LOUNGES and KITCHENS
Community study rooms furnished with desks, chairs, couches and whiteboards are available in all of the First-Year halls. Community lounges in all of the residence halls offer space for community meetings and entertainment. Ping-pong and pool tables are available in some lounges. Community kitchen spaces are also available for use. ENJOY IT ALL!
