Matches:

  • WOU President’s Match: Rex and Susan Fuller will match any first gift of 2020 designated to the Student Success Scholarship up to an aggregate amount of $5,000.
  • Emeritus Society Match: An anonymous donor has agreed to match any gift to the Emeritus Society Scholarship up to $5,000.
  • Friends of Stonewall Center Match: Alums Bec Williams ’95 and Brad Purdom ’05 will match up to $1,000 total for the Stonewall Center; and,up to $2,000 total towards the LGBTQIA+ Commitment Scholarship.
  • Olivia Woods and David Ribich Championship Match: Olivia Woods ’19 and David Ribich ’18 will match any gift up to $500 made to the Cross Country or Track and Field programs at Western Oregon University.
  • Parent Match: WOU Parent Michele Haberlach will match any gift from a parent of a WOU student or alum to the Fund for WOU up to $2,000.
  • Send the WOU Choir to the World Games Match: Lane and Francine Shetterly will match any donors’ gift in support of the WOU Choir’s trip to Europe to compete in the World Choir Games, up to a total amount of $2,500.

  • WOU Veteran Resources Match: Director of the Veteran Resources Center, Colin Haines will match any gift to the Veteran Resource Center up to an aggregate amount of $500.
  • WOSC for WOU Match: WOSC alum Doug Ladd ‘88 will match any gift made to the Wolves Club up to an aggregate amount of $1,500.

Challenges:

  • Finance and Planned Giving Challenge: From 8 a.m. to noon on March 3, members of the committee will personally increase the first 60 gifts designated to the Fund for WOU of at least $34.50 by an additional $34.50.
  • Alumni Happy Hour Challenge: Between 4 and 7 p.m., members of the Alumni Board will personally increase the first 24 gifts of any size to the Fund for WOU by their own graduation year amount.
  • Every state Challenge: The WOU Foundation needs your help as they attempt to get a gift from every US state! Look for updates throughout the day on FB and Instagram!
  • 100 Payroll Deduction Challenge: We currently have 70 employees who donate to WOU through payroll deduction.Three generous WOU Foundation Board members will provide lunch for all employees who contribute through payroll deduction if we can increase that number to 100 on March 3!
  • WOU Instagram Challenge: WOU Foundation Executive Director Erin McDonough and Wolves Softball Coach Lonny Sargent together will give $1 for every new @wounews Instagram follower on Giving Day up to $1,000.
  • Class of 1970’s Scholarship Class Gift: The class of 1970 is kicking off their own scholarship/class gift initiative on Giving Day with an anonymous gift of $15,000! Any graduates of the class of 1970 are encouraged to give to this new scholarship!
  • Givalanche Challenge: Individual with most donors to their Givalanche wins $100 to the WOU bookstore!
