It covers <strong><em>standard tuition and mandatory fees for 12 to 16 credits per term<\/em><\/strong> for first-year Oregon residents who meet all academic and financial aid requirements <strong><em>after other gift aid has been applied.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Initial awards will be based on 12 credits per term and will be adjusted as needed after the census date each term. Tuition and Fees for Free is available to the standard academic terms <strong><em>fall, winter, and spring<\/em><\/strong>. Tuition and Fees for Free is not available for summer term.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Who is eligible?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Eligible students must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current resident of Oregon<\/li>\n<li>Graduate from an Oregon high school<\/li>\n<li>Admitted to WOU as a first-year freshman for fall term (ex. Fall Term 2025 for the 2025-2026 award year)<\/li>\n<li>Have a 3.0 cumulative, unweighted high school GPA<\/li>\n<li>Eligible to receive the Federal Pell Grant as determined by the FAFSA\u00ae<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>What do I need to do to apply and by what deadlines?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit the FAFSA\u00ae by February 1st.<\/li>\n<li>Use WOU&#8217;s school code: 003209<\/li>\n<li>Submit all required admission materials.<\/li>\n<li>Official high school transcripts, SAT\/ACT scores, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Submit your final high school transcripts by August 1st.<\/li>\n<li>Accept all state and federal <strong>grants<\/strong> awarded.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>How will I know how much my award amount will be?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The WOU Financial Aid Office will calculate your financial aid eligibility for this award and notify you via your WOU email of a revision to your financial aid award offer. WOU Term Tuition + Mandatory Fees minus gift aid = Award Amount.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Can I be part-time or co-admitted to another Oregon Community College?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">No. Students must be enrolled full-time at WOU.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>What are the covered costs?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">To qualify, you must apply for federal and state grants. <strong><em>The program covers remaining standard tuition and fees after financial aid is applied.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Are housing and other educational expenses covered?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">No. Personal funds, Federal Work Study (if awarded), loans, or other scholarships will be needed to cover housing and other educational expenses such as books and supplies.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"A1\" style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Once I am a WOU student, how do I keep the award?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Complete the FAFSA\u00ae each year by February 1. You must remain eligible for the Federal Pell Grant.
