The WOU Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is designed to prepare you to help yourself, your family, and your neighbors in the event of a major emergency or disaster. Because emergency services personnel will not be able to help everyone immediately, you can make a difference by using CERT Training to save lives and protect property.<\/p>\n
The foremost reason for CERT training is to give you the decision-making and physical skills needed to offer immediate assistance to family members, neighbors, and associates<\/p>\n
Skills You Will Learn<\/h3>\n
CERT is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number of people. \u00a0 CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference.<\/p>\n

In the event of a major disaster, response from emergency responders may be delayed and\/or not adequate to address the entirety of the problems on campus. Volunteering to join WOU CERT can be of great assistance to the campus community.
