The Campus Recreation Department positions are designed to give students tools and training for a lifetime of success, both personally and professionally.<\/p>\n

The Campus Recreation Department is looking for friendly, self-sufficient individuals who will promote the health of its members. This individual should work cooperatively alongside other staff members and be willing to perform multiple job responsibilities. Duties of Campus Recreation staff may include but are not limited to, providing information about the facility, selling memberships and activity classes, resolving member conflicts and performing specific cleaning duties.<\/p>\n

Promoting safety and cleanliness is an important goal for the Campus Recreation staff. We seek to provide a positive environment and have friendly interactions with the users. Candidates should have a great work ethic and be adaptable to the Campus Recreation environment.<\/p>\n

Campus Recreation Department student employees will be provided the opportunity to grow and enhance their skills to:<\/p>\n

  There are two open Campus Recreation (POOLs) for non<\/a>-students. The Instructors & Specialists (POOL) for non-students interested in Aquatic, Swim, Fitness and\/or Cycling Instructors, Lifeguards and Climbing Specialist positions. The Club Sports coaches (POOL) for non-students interested in Soccer, Rugby, and Lacrosse positions.<\/p>\n

Campus Recreation will conduct a criminal background check for all positions through the Office of Human Resources at Western Oregon University. During that period new candidates normally receive 3-9 paid hours of scheduled training time per week.
