The Western Oregon University Alumni Award of Excellence is awarded each year to an alumnus or alumna (living or deceased) for their contributions and service to the university and community as well as for their distinguished work in their profession. Awards will also be made to alumni for their Professional Achievement, Service to Western Oregon University and\/or Service to their Community.<\/p>\n
These awards do more than honor these former students. It spotlights the accomplishments of Western and thereby increases the pride we all feel in our university.<\/p>\n
Any alumnus, alumna, faculty or staff member may place a name in nomination. Nominees are contacted by members of the Alumni Selection committee and\/or Advancement staff. Nominations will be carried forward for up to four years. The award:<\/strong><\/h3>\r\nThe Western Oregon University Alumni Award of Excellence is awarded each year to an alumnus (living or deceased) for their contributions and services to the university and community as well as for their distinguished work in their profession.\r\n\r\nThis award does more than honor these former students. It spotlights the accomplishments of Western and thereby increases the pride we all feel in our university. The recipient of this award will be awarded on stage at the June 13, 2020 commencement ceremony and will be dressed in full regalia.\r\n
Nominations:<\/strong><\/h3>\r\nAny alumnus, faculty or staff member may place a name in nomination. Nominations received from alumni shall receive priority consideration for the award over nominations from non-alumni nominations. No anonymous nominations will be accepted. All nominations are kept confidential. Nominees that are not selected, their nominator will be sent a letter informing them of the decision and encourage them to resubmit their nominee for the following year. Nominations are good for only one year, and will need to be resubmitted. The deadline for nominations is March 13, 2020.<\/span>\r\n
