How Credits Transfer<\/span><\/h1>\n

Transfer students come to WOU after a wide variety of college experiences. Some entered community college with the intention to eventually move to a four-year university, so they completed a \u201ctransfer degree.\u201d Others come from out of state, where the requirements may differ from Oregon\u2019s. Still others have a smattering of general education or elective courses on their transcript but aren\u2019t sure how they will translate to WOU\u2019s course structure.<\/p>\n

No matter what your background and number of transfer credits, we are happy to discuss how to maximize your work. Below are some guidelines for common transfer programs:<\/p>\n

Transfer Degrees from Oregon<\/h2>\n
<\/div>\n

Associate of Arts\/Oregon Transfer Degree (AAOT) or Associate of Science\/Oregon Transfer Degree (ASOT)<\/strong> Students who attended an Oregon community college and earned an AAOT or ASOT degree meet all of WOU\u2019s\u00a0general\u00a0education requirements<\/a> <\/span>and are guaranteed admission with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00.<\/span><\/p>\n

Transfer Degrees from Other States<\/h2>\n
<\/div>\n

Students from other states can transfer to WOU through the use of their state\u2019s transfer degrees.\u00a0 Students who earn one of the following degrees will meet WOU\u2019s general education requirements.<\/p>\n

    \n
  • California<\/strong>: Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (UC), and the California State General Education Breadth Certificate (CSU)<\/li>\n
  • Hawaii<\/strong>: Articulated Associate of Arts from the University of Hawaii<\/li>\n
  • Washington<\/strong>: Direct Transfer Agreement<\/li>\n
  • Florida<\/strong>: General Education Associate of Arts from Florida State College at Jacksonville, Hillsborough Community College and St. Petersburg College.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Community College and Vocational\/Technical Credit<\/h2>\n

    If you are transferring from a community college, you may transfer a maximum of 124 credits (for schools on a quarter system) of course work. A maximum of 24 credits for electives will be granted for technical or vocational classes taken at an accredited two-year college. Some programs at WOU may allow additional vocational credit.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Oregon Transfer Module (OTM)<\/h2>\n

    Students who have earned the Oregon Transfer Module (OTM) will meet all WOU General Education requirements with the exception of Integrating Knowledge (2 courses, 6-8 credits).<\/span><\/p>\n
