Campus tours

Due to new guidelines implemented by Oregon Governor Kate Brown in response to COVID-19, in-person campus tours are suspended November 18 through December 2

WOU is now offering in-person campus tours!

Prospective student and family tours

Western Oregon University is pleased to offer in-person campus tours in accordance with current state and university health guidelines. Tour slots are available weekdays at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. will depart from the Welcome Center. One student and a total of four family members or guests will be allowed to participate in a tour.

Admissions highly recommends that students schedule their tour a minimum of five days prior to their preferred tour date. Upon registering for a tour, students will receive a confirmation email with further instructions and information.

Face coverings will be required at all times for students and their family members or guests. Students and their family members or guests will also be required to respond to health screening questions upon their arrival to campus. Facing coverings are defined by the Oregon Health Authority and will be required at all times for students and their family members or guests.

Admissions will assist students who wish to connect with an academic department, student service area or a representative from Athletics.

For the health and safety of our residential students, in-person tours will not include the residence halls. You are invited to visit the residence halls via our virtual tours and University Housing can be contacted at 503-838-8311 or

Non-Registered (Walk-in) Students and Family Members/Guests

Should a student and their family members or guests arrive at the Welcome Center and not be pre-registered for a campus tour, Admissions will follow one of two paths:

  1. If there is a campus tour slot for the student and their guests, Admissions will help the student register for the tour and provide them an information packet.
  2. If there is no space available on one of the guided campus tours, Admissions will share information about our virtual campus tour and provide them with an information packet. For the safety of our community and visitors, self-guided tours are not permitted at this time.

Students are encouraged to contact the Campus Visitation Coordinator at or 503-838-8227 with any questions regarding in-person tours.

Virtual Admissions Counselor Appointments

Admissions counselors are available by appointment to meet with future WOU Wolves and their families. Counselors can answer your questions regarding admission requirements, the application process, academic programs, scholarships, and university housing. Please visit our counselor page and click on a counselor profile to schedule a future appointment.

If you would prefer to speak with an admissions counselor by phone, please contact Admissions at 503-838-8211. Admissions counselors are also available via the Ask WOU chat function to answer your questions.

New live virtual visits

Western Oregon University will be providing Online Campus Tours through Facebook live. Tours will be an hour and a half long and include housing. You will have the opportunity to ask current students any questions you may have. This would be a great time to get a first, or second, look at campus while getting the opportunity to ask a Student Ambassador any final questions you may have about the campus or your transition to WOU. To request closed captioning for the tour, please contact

If you have a disability that may require some accommodation in order to participate in a Western Oregon University class or activity, please notify the Office of Disability Services at 503-838-8250 or at least 3 business days in advance. To request an interpreter, please fill out the INTERPRETER REQUEST FORM.
