Volunteer crew positions available for productions may include: Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, Run Crew, Head of Props, Light Board Operator, Sound Board Operator, Set Construction crew, and Front of House Manager.
To be considered for a crew position, you should have previous experience, access to reliable transportation, and be available and willing to attend rehearsals and work on the campus of WOU. Preference will be given to applicants who possess significant educational or community theatre experience.

VALLEY SHAKESPEARE COMPANY ANNOUNCES GENERAL AUDITIONS FOR SUMMER PRODUCTION OF HAMLET
Auditions for Valley Shakespeare Company’s summer production of Hamlet will be held on Friday, April 5th from 6 – 10PM and Saturday, April 6 from 1 – 5PM. Auditions will be held in the Math/Nursing Building (Room 108) on the campus of Western Oregon University. The mission of VCS is to present free outdoor Shakespeare on outdoor stage in front of Rice Auditorium with a cast and crew of students, community volunteers and guest professionals.
Actors should prepare a single verse monologue (2 minutes or less) to present on Friday night. Cold reading will follow the monologue presentation on Friday, and callbacks will be held on Saturday afternoon. Strong preference will be given to actors who are available for both audition days; however, actors may attend just one day if unavoidable.
Rehearsals will be held Monday – Friday nights from 6 – 10PM beginning June 17 on the campus of Western Oregon University (WOU). Performances will be Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, July 25, 26, 27, 28 and Thursday, Friday, Saturday, August 1, 2, 3 on the Leinwand Outdoor Stage on the Campus of WOU. All performances will begin at 7:30PM.
The roles of Hamlet and Claudius have been precast with guest professionals. All other roles are available at this time. Roles are not bound by original gender: females may be cast in roles written for males and visa versa.
