Step 1:
Access your student loan history at the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)
website (www.nslds.ed.gov). Click the button labeled "Financial Aid Review" to get this
information. You will need to log-in using your FAFSA/Federal PIN. If you are unsure
of your PIN, visit www.pin.ed.gov to answer your challenge questions to retrieve your
PIN. If you have filed the FAFSA, you have a PIN (whether you know it or not).
Take note of the total amount of your outstanding student loans – you will need the total

Step 2:
Access the student loan repayment calculator available at www.studentloans.gov. On the
top navigation bar, find the "Managing Repayment" tab - follow the link to "Repayment
Plans and Calculators".
Using the total amount of student loans you have so far (listed in Step 1), you will be
able to calculate your monthly loan payments and total amount repaid with each of the
repayment plans listed.

Step 3:
Considering your academic plan, and your current student loan debt (see step 1), how
much student loan debt do you anticipate having upon graduation from WOU?
Using the total amount of student loan debt you believe you will have upon graduation,
use the calculators (see step 2) to discover your estimated total repayment.
