Physical
Anthropology students at Western Oregon University and Oregon State University
were given the task of researching and then digitally realizing what the Valley
Library and Hamersly Library would look like after 100 years without human attention.
They interviewed engineers, architects, ecologists, and groundskeepers to collate
what forces are constantly at work demolishing what has been built. Students
at OSU concluded that after 100 years of neglect the Valley Library would be
completely gone without a trace, replaced by wetlands. The vision of Hamersly
Library realized by WOU students is closer to 25 years of neglect.
