Western Oregon University is a fully accredited degree-granting institution of approximately 6000 students. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in a large number of major areas, as well as pre-professional curricula. Since 1856, the college's philosophy has been to preserve a friendly campus atmosphere and close student-faculty relationships through quality classroom teaching and faculty advisement for each student. Western prides itself on its ability to provide the finest learning experience possible to all students from all over the United States and foreign countries. Western's 134-acre campus is in Monmouth, a city of over 8,000 residents. The city is located in the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley between the Cascade Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
