I'd like to extend a special welcome to the visitors from WOU! I hope that you'll find some information spread throughout that will shed some light on how my new degree has helped me as I begin on one of the "coolest" teaching jobs I've ever had.

What our students are saying

The Info Tech program provided a wide range of experiences for me - from psychology to communication to Web 2.0 tools and video. Above all, it forced me to synthesize how technology has evolved and is continuing to change our culture. I would be lying if I said I am the same person after I graduated; I simply cannot teach, assess, and communicate with students outside the context of digital tools and multimedia. Technology is the gateway to learning for many students sitting in our K-12 classrooms today. In addition, I found that working simultaneously in the public schools allowed me to implement several of the skills I acquired from the courses. Heck, I would show students all sorts of Web 2.0 tools that I had created or made with another student at WOU. My learning became a part of my teaching which sparked interest and innovation in both my students and colleagues. -Jared M.

The MSED Info Tech program is exactly what I was looking for. In addition to supportive and knowledgeable faculty, the program provides a flexible learning environment. I have been able to take many of my classes online, allowing me to work when I have time. The course material is always current. My instructors strive to introduce emerging educational technology and promote discussion about relevant issues. This is the first time I've taken an online course and felt a connection with both my instructor and my classmates. Our online classes give us the opportunity to interact with one another, share information, and work collaboratively on projects. - Elayne E.

During my coursework I learned a variety of new skills I had previously been weak in, including video production, website creation, and use of Web 2.0 tools such as blogs, wikis, podcasts, screencasts, and presentation tools. After completion of the MSEd:IT program I realized that I truly love using technology, in addition to my first love: teaching. My work in the MSEd:IT program has been one of the most engaging processes I have ever experienced. Every assignment, every project, every class, and every term were extremely interesting, even when they were difficult. Finally, I would like to give special thanks to Dr. Mary Bucy for being the most amazing mentor and teacher. Her guidance inspired and motivated me. -Jonan D.
