Civil Rights Film Series The sociology Department will once again offer a Civil Rights Film Series course this Winter Term. It meets Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:50 in ITC 211 (Auditorium). We offer this course as a contribution to Black History Month and also as a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King and other heroes of the Civil Rights Movement. The series also will include some films on the civil rights struggles of Native Americans. Everyone is welcome whether they are enrolled for the class or not. Bring your popcorn. See you there!

Out & Proud 2013: Safe Zone Training Safe Zone Training is a two hour workshop that will help answer any GLBTQ questions you may have. The workshop is a safe zone were no one will be made fun of and you can get your answers to any question that may be on your mind about the queer community. Playful and educational games are provide to help provide education on GLBTQ inclusiveness on and off campus.

Who Needs Feminism Stop by the WUC to have your photo taken for the "Who Needs Feminism?" campaign! Students, faculty and staff will be able to express why they feel feminism is needed, have their photo taken and help to raise awareness about this campaign on campus. ?Who Needs Feminism?? (WNF) began at Duke University in early 2012. For a class final project, 16 students created a PR campaign for feminism which hoped to remove the negative stigma associated with feminism. Western Oregon University will be one of the first universities on the west coast to participate in this campaign.

Out & Proud: QSOC Panel Out & Proud: In Living COLOR is proud to present the Queer Student Of Color Panel (QSOC) Panel. The QSOC panel is made up of different WOU students who are willing to share with you their intimate and detail coming out stories. Coming Out is hard to do but coming from different cultures and upbringings is even harder to do. Join us as we learn the many different obstacles it takes for some of us in the GLBTQ Community to come out to our family and friends.
