Meal Plan Balance Goals 2019-2020

You have made your meal plan selection, now HOW do you go about managing your account so that it lasts throughout the term?
Your goal should be to end up using all of your food dollars each term – with neither a balance to carry forward into the next term or shortage of money to eat with as you make your way through the term.

 

Use the information below as a guideline to optimally utilize your residential meal plan for the term. Remember, when you eat in Valsetz, residents (on residential meal plan #’s 1-5) enjoy up to a 40% discount on prepared food (unless otherwise noted). Purchases at all other campus restaurants charged to meal plan accounts are retail purchases as overhead costs for these restaurants are not included in the room and board fees that residents pay. (Overhead costs for Valsetz Dining Hall only are built into the room and board fees that residents pay).

Beginning Balance: $285.00

  • Your goal will be to spend approximately $23.75/week for Fall Term.
  • Roughly $3.39/day – BASED ON EATING ALL 7 DAYS OF EACH WEEK.
  • (Results may vary depending upon YOUR eating habits).
  • NOTE: Winter and Spring Terms are 11 week terms (Fall is 12 weeks) Your weekly goal for Winter and Spring Terms will be approximately $25.91, or roughly $3.70/day for each term respectively.

Beginning Balance: $440.00

  • Your goal will be to spend approximately $36.66/week for Fall Term.
  • Roughly $5.23/day – BASED ON EATING ALL 7 DAYS OF EACH WEEK.
  • (Results may vary depending upon YOUR eating habits).
  • NOTE: Winter and Spring Terms are 11 week terms (Fall is 12 weeks) Your weekly goal for Winter and Spring Terms will be approximately $40.00, or roughly $5.71/day for each term respectively.

Beginning Balance: $560.00

  • Your goal will be to spend approximately $46.66/week for Fall Term.
  • Roughly $6.67/day – BASED ON EATING ALL 7 DAYS OF EACH WEEK.
  • (Results may vary depending upon YOUR eating habits).
  • NOTE: Winter and Spring Terms are 11 week terms (Fall is 12 weeks) Your weekly goal for Winter and Spring Terms will be approximately $50.91, or roughly $7.27/day for each term respectively.

Beginning Balance: $685.00

  • Your goal will be to spend approximately $57.08/week.
  • Roughly $8.15/day – BASED ON EATING ALL 7 DAYS OF EACH WEEK.
  • (Results may vary depending upon YOUR eating habits).
  • NOTE: Winter and Spring Terms are 11 week terms (Fall is 12 weeks) Your weekly goal for Winter and Spring Terms will be approximately $62.27, or roughly $8.90/day for each term respectively.

Beginning Balance: $150.00

  • Your goal will be to spend approximately $12.50/week.
  • Roughly $1.79/day – BASED ON EATING ALL 7 DAYS OF EACH WEEK.
