Conference Theme
Media have long been used in educational environments. From hieroglyphics, text, and art, to the latest advancements in computer-based electronic devices, each medium introduces new ways of being and living the educational experience. We gather at this year’s conference to better understand media and education and the ways in which those involved in the educational endeavor are shaped by media.
Proposals for panels or individual papers should be submitted not later than January 31, 2005. Referee decisions for those papers accepted will be announced by February 15, 2005. Independent scholars and doctoral students are encouraged to submit abstracts.
Keynote Speaker: Our keynote speaker this year will be Dr.
Chet Bowers. Currently Adjunct Professor of Environmental Studies at the University
of Oregon, Dr. Bowers has written 16 books, more than 90 articles, and has
lectured at 32 universities in the United States and 29 universities in other
parts of the world.
